Marshfield DTC virtual meeting
About Marshfield Democratic Town Committee
The Marshfield Democratic Town Committee's motto is "Do good often." The committee is actively working to enhance the town's political discourse by organizing civic engagement events. Previously, the committee has hosted civic engagement events that include coat, food, and blood drives.(more info) Unfortunately, the town is experiencing a dark and adversarial tone, stemming from an organized online group.
Marshfield is an excellent town to live in, raise a family in, and grow up in. The town boasts numerous exceptional features that other towns lack. The success of the town is not accidental; it is the result of generations of citizens stepping up to run and serve in elected public office and the dedication of public employees. Marshfield has constantly maintained a strongly conservative budget in support of a progressive town plan. Now all that the town has is at risk as a result of this small group online that is promoting this destructive tone in town politics.
The question is how to shift the tone and reorient the town towards a more positive direction. The committee's strategy involves a neighborhood-based voter outreach campaign. In February the committee will be hosting its first day of action for the new year to promote the committee's food drive and let people know about upcoming town meetings and elections. The committee is seeking volunteers to assist with an outreach effort by committing to speaking with 50 of their neighbors on the day of action.
If you are interested in finding out more details about the plan, please come to the January Democratic town committee meeting and the day of action in February. The details for these two events and the civic engagement event are in the post listed below.
