Progressive volunteer fair

Writer's picture: John BowesJohn Bowes

Since the beginning of the Trump administration, it has been easy to become overwhelmed and depressed by the flood of bad news. The hardest part has been trying to figure out where to plug in and help out. The South Shore Democratic caucus is hosting a forum called the volunteer fair that will address what you can do to help on multiple issues locally. At the fair, there'll be booths for Southeastern Democratic town committees and progressive groups.

Event attendees

There are a lot of volunteer opportunities for people who want to help at-risk communities and show defiance to the present federal regime. The purpose of the fair is to connect attendees with fair presenters in order to make our community stronger. If you are a progressive voter living in Southeastern Massachusetts, we invite you to attend between the hours of 11:00 and 1:00 to check out each one of the booths.

Additionally, if you are a progressive organization, a Democratic committee, a good government group, or, in general, think progressives would be interested in your group, the team would love to have you attend and set up a table to tell fair attendees about your organization. Please take a few minutes to fill out this Google form to tell us about yourself and your organization.

Help grow network

The Marshfield Democratic town committee needs your help growing awareness in our communities. Many communities no longer have local papers, so it is hard for people to find out what's going on and get involved. That is why the Marshfield Democratic Town Committee is asking you to share content in your personal network and neighborhood.

Email

A great way to help is to email an invitation to the event to people you know who might be interested. The committee has created a PDF that can be sent through any email system as an attachment. (click here)

Social media

Sharing the content on social media platforms is always helpful. There are two ways you can do this: either by sharing an image or a post from the committee. Below is a link to the image and the posts. If the content has not been posted yet, there will be a date when the post will appear, so check back at that time.

The real world

Getting the word out the old-fashioned way in the community, a person-to-person contact is easily the most effective way to build awareness. For this reason the committee has created flyers and palm cards that you can distribute.  These are available for download in both color and black and white.
