Veterans Coat Drive
The Democratic Town Committee of Marshfield hosted a Veterans Coat Drive on Saturday
December 30, at the public library. Committee members collected over 500 coats and winter clothing. This was the second in a series of civic engagement events designed to change the tone of political discourse with positive energy as part of the GCA voter outreach process. The theme of this process is “Do good often!" The committee is doing this by hosting civic engagement events that are mini-volunteer opportunities that improve communities and help Marshfield citizens.
The bad weather did not hamper the charity of the Marshfield residents, who donated gently used winter clothing as well as new underwear and socks for all genders. The committee distributed the collected clothing, which was donated to local veterans groups and the Marshfield veteran's home.
The committee is looking for suggestions on what events we should host in 2024.
