Bells will peal from the First Parish Meeting House steeple on Cohasset Common to open a celebration of our Bill of Rights on Patriots’ Day, April 20, 2026, 2:00 pm.

Ten citizens representing the Cohasset community will read the Bill of Rights from the pulpit of the historic meeting house, which has a rich history of involvement in the Revolutionary War.

Members of the Rusty Skippers Band will play Revolutionary War and present-day patriotic songs, and everyone will be invited to sing beloved songs celebrating America, accompanied by Mike Rosen on the piano.

The event, entitled Celebrating the Bill of Rights: Our Common Heritage, was conceived by a group of citizens to honor and remember our shared history. With Bill of Rights readers from all corners of Cohasset, including the police, schools, maritime community, town hall, scouting, clergy, seniors, even the youngest among us, the event is designed to be inclusive and bring us back to our roots both locally and nationally.
