GCA teams

The GCA is managed by volunteer teams that assist in neighborhood voter outreach and event programs organized by Democratic committees. The GCA teams utilize team members' talents to work on specific GCA processes, serving as shared resources for committees on a regional basis. If you are interested in helping to grow the resistance beyond your Democratic committee, please consider becoming a member of one of the specialized teams. See list below

  • Action team

Action team members manage the voter outreach and campaign activity. They set up and run volunteer opportunities such as neighborhood outreach, postcard parties, friend, phone, and texting banks. Members will work closely with regional DTCs, candidates for office, and elected officials.

  • Community team

The community team members are responsible for building awareness of democratic issues and candidates in the community. Team members develop visibility events and assist committees running the events. These events include lecture series, forums, sign holding, rallies, and candidate events.

  • Neighborhood team

The neighborhood team provides logistical support for the outreach programs. The primary task is the creation of voter universes for democratic committees and the division of that universe into neighborhoods. The team manages the creation, distribution, and collection of canvas kits used during outreach. Vote Builder knowledge is not necessary but is a bonus for any person wishing to become a member of this team.

  • Messaging/Media team

The members of this team assist Democratic committees in developing messages and content for distribution. The team's goal is to generate a consistent, regionally specific message using branded content for committees to distribute in their communities. A marketing background is appreciated, as well as graphic design, audio, and visual creation backgrounds.

  • Minuteman team

The Minuteman team is comprised of two volunteer groups. The curators group creates a DTC content list of social media posts for the subscribers group to engage with on a weekly basis. The subscribers can engage with posts on the list by liking, sharing, or commenting on them. The engagement of subscribers with posts significantly influences the algorithms used by platforms to display content. Increasing the engagement of any post will help that content be seen by more users of that platform. The minuteman team's efforts have significantly enhanced the visibility of Democratic Committees in local communities. Please sign up to join this team.

  • Social team

The social team is responsible for developing and supporting events that engage community members around progressive issues. These events are characterized by their robust social and entertainment aspects, which significantly enhance community ties. Common social events include meetups, entertainment, book clubs, fundraisers, or meet and greets. The focus of these events is growing the Progressive communities involvement with Democratic committees.

  • Tech team

Modern campaigns and Democratic committees are very dependent on technology. For this reason the committee is putting together a team of experts to handle data management, website development, email communications, and social media platforms. If you have any skills in technology, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Volunteer team

Democratic Committees can foster a progressive network in the conservative Southeastern Massachusetts environment by creating a positive volunteer experience. The GCA process relies on a dedicated team that fosters robust relationships with volunteers. The volunteer team is responsible for initiating contact, following up, and maintaining relationships with volunteers when they are interacting with Democratic committees.
